Art Direction

“Any work of art must first tell a story.”

— Robert Frost

Any art, whether it’s hanging in the Met or a graphic on a t-shirt—needs to tell a story. I work closely with my clients to do exactly that, tell their story. For each individual project, I first work closely with the client to gather a mood or vibe to gather the initial feeling and what they want their art to represent. I love getting mood boards, graphic inspirations or anything that inspires them to conjure up the look we are going for. I consider myself a curator and facilitator of art, as I myself am personally not a graphic designer, I work hand-in-hand with each artist on the concept, design, and direction to ensure that what we are creating is perfect for my client.

I worked closely with Marcus King’s team on the art direction and vision for his debut solo album ‘El Dorado’ released on Easy Eye Sound. After discussing with Marcus, he knew he wanted to go for a very retro “Super Fly” and 70’s vibe for the merch line that would center on his beloved Cadillac El Dorado. I did some research on the graphics from the movie and similar graphics from the time period and created a mood board. I knew there was no one else more perfect to execute this art than my friend and incredible designer, Nick Potts.
